About
Our ESG roadmap builds on Manx Telecom Group's commitment to be a responsible employer whilst caring for our community and the environment and, specifically, to collate and centrally report on key ESG measures over the next five years using the United Nation's sustainable development goals to shape the plan.

Our goals
Our goals include some major environmental initiatives, particularly around renewable energy and how we support our local environment.
- Verified carbon footprint.
- We will buy green energy from Manx Utilities.
- We aspire to generate our own renewable energy.
ENVIRONMENT
Our achievements
Our achievements in environmental protection include:
- Electric vehicles - in our fleet, incentive lease scheme for staff, tree charging points in our car parks for fleet and personal cars.
- Cycle to work scheme
- Recycling office waste
- Adopting a Circular Economy approach to procurement of materials
- Energy-efficient lighting developed across our buildings
- HQ gardens to be redeveloped to encourage wildlife
- Business Partner collaboration with Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT) and first corporate sponsor of an MWT nature reserve.
COMMUNITY
- Manx Telecom Group has been at the heart of the Island community for 130 years and we have a long and proud history of supporting local groups and charities.
- We are long-standing sponsors of Manx Telecom Parish Walk, a flagship event in the Manx sporting and cultural calendar.
- Main sponsor for FC Isle of Man, the Island's first community-owned football club during the opening 3 seasons, helping to develop Manx-resident players for the future of football on the island without players having to move away.
- We also sponsor many smaller charities, including Live at Home, Isle of Play, Manx Wildlife Trust, Motiv8, Samaritans, Salvation Army, and Isle of Man Foodbank.
- Through our own annual community funding programmes, we give something back through small grants.
- It's Our Community has provided more than £80,000 of funding to over 160 Isle of Man organisations of all sizes, and Giving Back supports good causes our staff work with.
- During 2022 alone, we invested more than £200,000 in local organisations and projects supporting sport, youth, elderly and vulnerable people, culture, agriculture, and environmental and wildlife projects.
- Yabsta.im is the new home of our three, great local websites... we’ve brought isleofman.com, manx.net and directory.im under one roof and made a number of improvements.
Governance
Health and safety will always be a top priority for the Manx Telecom Group. Our primary goals are to prevent work related injuries & ill-health, eliminate hazards, minimise Health & Safety risks to employees, customers, contractors and interested parties.
The documented quality system captures the Quality Policy and objectives of the Company. It is a key document in our Quality Management System (QMS) and outlines the Manx Telecom Group top management’s commitment to continuous improvement.
The Information Security Policy has been established by Manx Telecom Group management to support the strategic objectives of the business and is committed to continual improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
The Manx Telecom Group is passionately committed to the positive protection of the environment - meeting the needs of the present without compromising those of the future.
We were the world’s first telecoms operator to gain British Approvals Board of Telecommunications (BABT) approval for the accuracy of our billing across fixed, mobile, and broadband.
We provide fully outsourced managed data centre platforms to a range of customers that are required to be compliant with this standard and are audited annually. It is the world’s most advanced and most stringent security standard for online payment processors. PCI DSS is the “gold standard” for protecting customer account data.
